The dimensions of the stonesIt is sometimes difficult to realize the size of a stone from a photo or video. In the description of each item you will find the dimensions in millimeters. There are usually three numbers. The first is for the length, the second for the width and the last for the depth of the gem. Do not hesitate to ask us for visual material (photo or video) in order to have other shots or size comparisons.

Photos and videosNo filters or color modifications are performed on photos and videos. We use a CANON eos100D camera as well as two XIAOMI 2020 and 2021 phones for visual equipment. We pay particular attention to rendering the color of the gems as faithfully as possible.

The hardness of gemsIn the item description is the hardness of the gem displayed. The hardness of a gem is represented by the Mohs scale which goes from 1 to 10 (10 being diamond, the hardest gemstone and 1, talc) and which represents scratch resistance. It is therefore a benchmark to qualify the hardness of a stone.

The ethics of stonesOne of the questions many people have is the ethics of trading gemstones. Colored stones are the subject of a very different exploitation from that of diamonds. The diamond is the subject of research and exploitation on an industrial scale given the strong speculation about its stock market value. The investments of mining companies are huge and are the cause of deplorable operating conditions for the most part. Colored stones, on the other hand, are often the subject of small operations. It often happens that a landowner or farmer notices the presence of certain gems on their land and decides to mine it. Working conditions in mines depend on the operators, so we cannot make it an absolute rule but a general one.
